World of Tanks with 3.SST

Greetings folks!
Today is the launch day of a great game – World of Tanks!
And we, the guys from 3.SST, are hereby inviting you to come try this glorious new game with us!
WoT is like nothing you’ve ever tried, or is at least very far from what you/we usually play. It is a mix of action and simulation with a hint of MMO to it and it has TANKS! EVERYWHERE!
But I haven’t mentioned the best thing about World of tanks yet…
IT’S FREE!!!
It follows a free-to-play model where the micro-transactions only apply to the somewhat hardcore enthusiasts of the game, which means that you don’t ever have to pay anything to play the game since there are no restrictions.
Here’s a short promo we made:
But a tank is not just a tank in WoT. There are several classes and tech-trees to follow as well as 3 different nations.
Here’s a quick overview of the tank-classes ingame:
•Light Tanks – great for scouting and are notoriously hard to hit.
•Medium Tanks – Somewhat all-round tanks with both mobility and firepower
•Heavy Tanks – Slow-moving fortresses with extreme firepower, but slow turrets.
•Tank Hunters – Thick front armor, huge guns – but no turret. Sort of a sniper and fire-support.
•SPG’s (Artillery) – Amazing accuracy and range, slow firing rate. Uses special top-down interface.
A light tank is not necessarily worse than a heavy-tank, but its role is different. As a light tank you can get away from most enemies with your speed and maneuverability, and actually spotting and scouting other tanks is greatly rewarded in WoT.
There are 10 tiers of tanks, with countless modules to research, choose and fit to your tank. The game features German, Russian and American tanks but the battles you play include tanks from all nations on both teams – so you’re free to choose whichever tank you like.
The game is set in the general period around the Second World War but the tanks production dates vary greatly.
There’s nothing more satisfying than working together in the game. The artillery may force the enemy to move out from their position; a few medium tanks may work as bait luring enemy tanks into the path of tank-hunters, where the light tanks scoot around the entire battle taking out the enemy artillery.
3.SST is the abbreviation of the 3rd SS panzer division but other than that it’s just a clan-name we have stuck with the last many years. This glorious operation will be spearheaded by a couple of Panzer Veterans who played during the beta, but other than having tried the game before we hold no advantages. We just KNOW this game is fun!
Our goals are simple.
We wish to play something called company-battles which require a varied range of tanks and players, and when the developers implement a total world-map that clans can conquer through battles, we would love to get a foothold somewhere in Europe. We would also love a few big battles every Sunday afternoon/evening, but we’re generally just playing to have fun.
We’re all students being various kinds of busy and there is no commitment-requirement from the members/players.
If you think this game sounds ANY kind of interesting, why not give it a try? It’s free! And we’d love to see you ingame!
